A fantasy thriller about a city where sinister overlords reshape the citizens's lives every night. It's original, dark, grim and surprising. The aesthetics of the movie are pretty unique and look like they inspired The Matrix, which was filmed one year after this movie. It uses well the time it has to tell you a convoluted story that makes sense, so I recommend it if you are looking for some scifi or fantasy.

A superhero drama action movie set in a parallel 80s where Nixon is still president. The greatest merit of this movie is that instead of filler you get microstories that explain the background of the characters and why their relationships are the way they are. This is top-tier storytelling, production and acting. The underlying plot seems like the typical superhero plot with betrayals and a villain to defeat. But there's no clear-cut morality here. Superheroes are criminals who killed people and were banned by the government or went insane instead of virtue-signaling cucks. The villain is the most charismatic and likeable character.

A sci-fi epic with moments of horror centered around space exploration with an AI and its alignment problems. A memorable classic for many reasons, masterfully directed. The ending is underwhelming but can be forgiven by the weight of the rest of the movie.

A scifi tragedy sequel. Plot is uninteresting, movie is too long, but the aesthetics are good. Watch it to understand the memes about it, but not much else.
