Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets
White guilt/reparations propaganda. The main plot is that white people and their stupid wars almost drive extinct a race. Then white people try to cover it up, but the strong, independent female lead brings the evil, dumb white general who did it to justice. Predictable through and through, the movie tries to dazzle you with CGI so you turn off your brain and blindly swallow this shit. Oh, and they have Rihanna in it for some reason, and there's a random filler scene with Rihanna just dancing with more CGI and tons of make-up that has no point, because her character dies in about 15-20 minutes. It's also filled with boring and pointless dialogues between the two leads about 'love' and how the male lead 'loves' so much the female lead, and she tries to philosophize about 'love'.

What it's about
In the 28th century, Valerian and Laureline are special operatives charged with keeping order throughout the human territories. On assignment from the Minister of Defense, the two undertake a mission to Alpha, an ever-expanding metropolis where species from across the universe have converged over centuries to share knowledge, intelligence, and cultures. At the center of Alpha is a mysterious dark force which threatens the peaceful existence of the City of a Thousand Planets, and Valerian and Laureline must race to identify the menace and safeguard not just Alpha, but the future of the universe.
