The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
Part 3/3 of an adventure epic saga that has inspired most of epic/high fantasy. The third movie has more filler than the other two, but also great aesthetics (Mordor and the battle at its gates). Sam's story is what carries the movie and the whole saga: a man who will do anything to protect his friend as he carries out his mission. It's Sam who has to be brave, persuasive, patient and resourceful; he carries the ring. Frodo just holds the ring. There are good backstories (Gollum, the ghost knights), which is an example of good storytelling. The ending is great despite the eagles 'ex machina': as a consequence of having carried the ring, Frodo has been damaged, and Sam experiences the loss of his best friend.

What it's about
