The Jungle Book (1967)

Meh2/4 · Mediocre. Watchable if it is already on, but I would not go looking for it.
The animation is incredible for a movie from 1967, and it is enjoyable for kids. The whole movie is a metaphor for a 'free' life in the wilderness versus a 'tame' life in the city. There are two characters that try to convince the main character: Balu (a bear) and Bagheera (a panther). The bear represents Diogenes the Cynic, a carefree vagabond who tries to convince the main character of the free life. The neurotic panther tries to talk him into living in the city. It would be more appealing without the slapstick humor to keep the kids' attention, which is why the rating is a 2 instead of a 3.
