The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
Meh2/4 · Mediocre. Watchable if it is already on, but I would not go looking for it.
Part 2/3 of an adventure epic saga. There are zero consequences for the actions of the main characters. If it isn't magic, it's the fucking eagles that save them. There's romance, drama and fight filler. The big mean terrible powerful dragon is killed by a pleb with a single arrow in a fifteen minute sequence. The dragon could've killed the guy, but no, there's the typical 'bad guy speech'. There are completely useless characters (Bard's children, the elf woman) who can't act and have no purpose in the story. After the dragon (the only interesting character) dies, the rest of the saga mostly loses its point. But sure, the CGI is good.
