Meh2/4 · Mediocre. Watchable if it is already on, but I would not go looking for it.
A drama about a novelist who has to work as croupier and uses his work as inspiration for a novel. It's a movie that is charming up until the last 16 minutes or so. The ending is confusing and weak, as though things don't change much, there are unexplained events, and there is a general lack of purpose or meaning to having watched it. With a better ending, it could have been a very good movie.

What it's about
Jack Manfred is an aspiring writer who to make ends meet, takes a job as a croupier. Jack remains an observer, knowing that everything in life is a gamble and that gamblers are born to lose. Inevitably, he gets sucked into the world of the casino which takes its toll on his relationships and the novel he is writing.
