A great classic war film about the consequences of war camps and fraternizing with the enemy. One of my favorite all-time movies, and certainly in the top as far as war movies go.

A sci-fi epic with moments of horror centered around space exploration with an AI and its alignment problems. A memorable classic for many reasons, masterfully directed. The ending is underwhelming but can be forgiven by the weight of the rest of the movie.

Classic legal drama where a jury deliberates on a murder trial and one skeptical juror forces everyone to carefully consider all the evidence. Likely the best legal movie and one that shows the wide range of biases and preconceptions that plague the human mind, as well as how eloquence and skepticism can stand against them.

Classic mafia drama tragedy.

A drama comedy about the corruption and corporatization of the television. It has some of the most memorable sentences of cinema's history, including ‘I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore.’ It's honest, funny, and frighteningly accurate in its predictions. Easily the best 70s movie and one of the best of all time.

A decent period tragic drama with some cruelty. One of the few classic that are not fully overrated.

An original and politically incorrect musical 'Pygmalion' story about a rich professor who transforms a lowly English commoner into a princess. The main male character (professor Higgins) is a proud, rich man with no regrets, something impossible in modern films. He even goes as far as to say `Let a woman in your life and you invite eternal strife,` during one of his diatribes. The acting is good, some of the songs are excellent; just take a look at `I'm an ordinary man.` The one fault I found with the movie is Ms Doolittle's father story and songs, which I don't find interesting at all, especially `Get me to the church on time.`

A classic desert epic that follows a British officer during WWI in Arabia. Strong tragedy, explores how the main character empathizes with the Arabian people, even though the British government intends only to use them. Beautiful cinematography on top, the best desert-themed movie.

Drama that questions what is happiness. The movie captures fairly well the feeling of regret over choices made long ago, similar to what happens in 'Gone with the wind', but less dramatic. Overall fresh and entertaining.

A classic coming of age drama that follows a film director's life as a child, teenager, and then adult when he returns to his hometown. Tragic at times, but also beautiful and meaningful.

A classic crime drama where a man must kill members of his extended family to inherit the title of Duke. Concise, to the point, quality movie without bullshit.

One of the best classic doomsday films that still holds up. It's a drama, with very little action happening, where different characters confront their impending death in only five months after the rest of the world has already died, which makes for an original setting.

A drama where a cruel business tycoon escales his father's company into an empire, crushing everyone in his way. Great for fans of classics like Citizen Kane, All About Eve. Feels like a crueler, meaner version of The Aviator.
