Action

An original sci-fi action movie about a world where people live inside a simulation built by machines to make electricity out of humans. It also has two amusing philosophical mindfucks which are well presented: determinism vs choice; the nature of reality; a slight, hard to see reference to the failure of communism. It's one of the few unique movies that after you've watched it, changes how you think about other movies. And how filmmakers make movies.

A action comedy movie by Luc Besson about a hired gun that develops a weird friendship with an orphaned teenager and teaches her to kill. There are a lot of movies with this plot, but this one is funny while not trying to be a pure comedy. It has action, but there's also drama. Definitely one of his best films.

The best buddy cop parody, has hilarious moments.

An action heist classic with consequences. For 2h50min of movie, there's too much filler though. The whole story about Al Pacino's family could've been skipped and everyone would have been spared the boring melodrama to increase empathy for the cop. Same goes for De Niro's romance subplot. The most interesting thing in the movie is the price De Niro has to pay for vengeance, and how he realizes he couldn't live knowing he didn't kill the murderer of one of his friends.

A jamesbond-like action comedy film. Above average, not excellent.

It's not a masterpiece, but it's not disappointing either. Good pace, entertaining to watch, typical action movie.
