Movie https://tvtrove.com/title/mutant-chronicles https://tvtrove.com/title/mutant-chronicles Sun, 29 Jun 2025 16:00:00 GMT Recommended — 3/4. An action steampunk survival, strange and meandering at times, but overall its memorable for the aesthetics. Movie https://tvtrove.com/title/bad-education https://tvtrove.com/title/bad-education Sun, 29 Jun 2025 16:00:00 GMT Recommended — 3/4. A true crime story about a massive embezzlement scandal in a public school. The movie is great because of the main character and his personality. Movie https://tvtrove.com/title/gladiator-ii https://tvtrove.com/title/gladiator-ii Sun, 29 Jun 2025 16:00:00 GMT Meh — 2/4. A sequel that shouldn't have been made, Gladiator II has a decent half of the movie, but a disastrous, anachronic, predictable, preachy ending. A MC that is not appealing, and a lot of buildup for nothing. Movie https://tvtrove.com/title/payback https://tvtrove.com/title/payback Sun, 29 Jun 2025 16:00:00 GMT Recommended — 3/4. Mel Gibson plays a wronged robber who wants to fuck over the people who fucked him. Entertaining, funny, overall solid movie. Average sci-fi body horror, plenty of filler and nonesense, couple shocking scenes. Not much happens, not very entertaining nor scary. Movie https://tvtrove.com/title/princess-mononoke https://tvtrove.com/title/princess-mononoke Sun, 29 Jun 2025 16:00:00 GMT Must-see — 4/4. A fantasy adventure epic, classic in its genre. Beautifully made, plot makes sense and isn't entirely trite, it does hit you over the head with its anti-war/deforestation/industrialization message, but the aesthetics and vibes are good. Movie https://tvtrove.com/title/venom-the-last-dance https://tvtrove.com/title/venom-the-last-dance Sun, 29 Jun 2025 16:00:00 GMT Recommended — 3/4. Above-average superhero action movie. Not as cringe as the Avengers stuff. Solid Venom sequel, better than the second movie. Movie https://tvtrove.com/title/the-accountant https://tvtrove.com/title/the-accountant Sun, 29 Jun 2025 16:00:00 GMT Recommended — 3/4. A violent sequence of short stories with a partially common set of characters. Neo-noir, adaptation of a comic, half the point is the aesthetics and the raw violence. Movie https://tvtrove.com/title/chappie https://tvtrove.com/title/chappie Sun, 29 Jun 2025 16:00:00 GMT Recommended — 3/4. A small band of criminals teach a sentient robot to be a criminal and help them steal. Strange movie, surprisingly good core, has the band 'Die Antwoord' in it for some reason, weird aesthetics, half-dystopian setting. Overall quirky and different movie about AI. A theater play-like thriller about a group of people trapped at a rest stop with bank robbers. Similar to other movies but a different take on the story/plot. Entertaining, good ending, brutal, but also overall not particularly memorable. Movie https://tvtrove.com/title/1917 https://tvtrove.com/title/1917 Sun, 29 Jun 2025 16:00:00 GMT Must-see — 4/4. Two soldiers on a mission to deliver a critical message to the front lines need to traverse a long way there on foot. Shot as a single take, it's one of the best WWI movies. TV show https://tvtrove.com/title/planet-terror https://tvtrove.com/title/planet-terror Sun, 29 Jun 2025 16:00:00 GMT Recommended — 3/4. Zombie movie satire, excessively explicit and disgusting at times for effect. Plot is nonsense, like the movies it parodies. Interestingly it uses a filter to make it look like celluloid for the 80s aesthetic. Over-the-top, sometimes funny, has some memorable scenes. Movie https://tvtrove.com/title/shaun-of-the-dead https://tvtrove.com/title/shaun-of-the-dead Sun, 29 Jun 2025 16:00:00 GMT Avoid — 1/4. A twist on the zombie horror genre where the movie is all about a romantic relationship. Nothing happens, really, it's just a romantic 'comedy' with zombies and no funny moments. A strange, almost surrealist, French drama where a man searches for his kidnapped brother. The plot gets lost in the sauce, there's no clear direction or point to this. Frankly Jeunet's worst work, too pretentious. Movie https://tvtrove.com/title/death-proof https://tvtrove.com/title/death-proof Sun, 29 Jun 2025 16:00:00 GMT Recommended — 3/4. A dark comedy where a former stuntman uses his car to murder innocent people. The first half is great, the second has way too much dialogue that goes nowhere. It's realistic dialogue, sure, but still could have been either shorter or had more action/less buildup, particularly in the second half. One of the best true crime movies, much more original and appealing than the average cop thriller. Movie https://tvtrove.com/title/blade-runner https://tvtrove.com/title/blade-runner Fri, 16 May 2025 14:00:00 GMT Meh — 2/4. A cyberpunk tragedy where human-like artificial intelligences are commonplace. Was highly influential in culture specially for its cyberpunk and 'Neo-Tokyo' aesthetics, the use of rain to set the mood and humanlike AI. Sadly, it's slow and dragged-out. It tries to build toward a cathartic ending but fails because there's not enough character development of the villain. It was original for its… Movie https://tvtrove.com/title/city-of-ember https://tvtrove.com/title/city-of-ember Fri, 16 May 2025 14:00:00 GMT Meh — 2/4. A dystopian family movie about an underground city that has survived for hundreds of years after a global catastrophe, and which is nearing the end of its resources. Apple's show Silo is a better version of this story because it's less oriented to kids and more brutal, which would have been a better way to tell this story, instead of trying to cater to children. Movie https://tvtrove.com/title/moon https://tvtrove.com/title/moon Fri, 16 May 2025 14:00:00 GMT Must-see — 4/4.
